-» ensure that organization resources are being used economically and potential risks are minimized
-» ensure that user business requirements are complied with
-» provide feasibility study reports to support decisions based on cost effectiveness criteria
-» advise on the selection and purchase of new applications and productivity software tools
-» advise on the smooth time-phased implementation of application programs
